Expert Advice on Compliance and Energy Efficiency Improvements
Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) are required as part of rental property compliance. To be compliant you must reach a minimum Energy Efficiency Standard of Band E or above. Many landlords overlook EPCs and only complete them at the last minute to achieve their compliance.
But at Bright Star, we see EPCs as an opportunity. By completing your EPC in good time, you can take time to consider how you may wish to improve your rating. Improving your EPC rating as many benefits including, reducing your tenant’s energy bills hence making your property more attractive, and reducing the chance of issues such as damp or condensation, which in term reduces your maintenance costs.
